Library lovers just swipe right
Wollongong City Libraries, New South Wales, started a long-distance relationship with members on Library Lovers Day, Sunday 14 February.
Library members were encouraged to download the Libraries’ new app to enjoy all their favourite resources from the comfort of their home.
Wollongong City Libraries App gives library lovers access to thousands of free eBooks, eAudiobooks, films, music and more, all from their own device.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor, Gordon Bradbery AM said that the app was a great way for the community to bring a little piece of the Library home with them.
“With more people accessing entertainment online, Wollongong City Libraries’ is always looking for new ways to build on the more traditional Library services, such as borrowing or renewing a book and providing ways to explore the Libraries’ catalogue in a digital format. This helps our members make the most of what our Libraries have to offer.
“The new Library app also allows people to explore a greater selection of digital resources from award-winning documentaries, to learning a language or listening to their favourite eAudiobook.”
With more than 18,000 users of the app, Library lovers can use a smartphone or tablet to access online.
Best of all the Library App is the perfect date for when people are out and about and in need of some entertainment.
“The past year has shown how important accessibility of resources are for our community. We want to make sure everyone has access to our wonderful Library services, even if they can’t always physically attend our facilities.”
