Harvard professor hosts civic innovation masterclass
The City of Canning, Western Australia, recently partnered with Dr David S. Ricketts to bring local government leaders from across the state together for an exclusive innovation masterclass.
Dr. Ricketts has taught innovation at Harvard University for the past decade in the Technology and Entrepreneurship Center (TECH) and has over 20 years of corporate and academic experience, working with some of the world’s leading innovators and innovative companies.
With the goal of increasing innovation capability across government, the City invited 16 other local governments to participate in the unique masterclass.
CEOs, directors and managers, along with a representative from WALGA, participated in the unique learning opportunity.
The masterclass assisted attendees to develop their innovation capability so that they can build a framework in their workplaces that will support the delivery of their strategic goals.
The event also provided opportunities to collaborate across local governments as well as access to other global governments, to help councils build cities that are liveable, sustainable and productive.
