Trainees celebrate final step
Sixteen trainees celebrated the completion of their certificates with Isaac Regional Council last year.
Chief Executive Officer Terry Dodds said as well as improving employee education and career opportunities, these traineeships benefit the wider community.
“These are traineeships in horticulture, cultural services, water, sewerage, and road construction, contributing to frontline community services.
“Council is committed to growing our own through professional development and accredited training initiatives.”
Mr Dodds said by improving the skills and education of students and staff they are providing Isaac communities with a brighter future.
Cody Finn-Prince, 20 years old, just completed his Certificate Three in Water Treatment Operations, in record time and said it all came down to his time management skills.
“I managed to complete a 24 month course in only 9 months by sticking to the goals I had set myself and doing a lot of work at home.
“I have really enjoyed studying and working with a great team, and look forward to continuing to work with council.”
