Day care extension
Moree Plains Shire Council has approved the construction of an additional room at Gwydir Day Care in response to a community demand for day care places.
Moree Plains Shire Council’s Client Services Manager Adriana Pippos said the extension will provide a better provision of services to our youngest residents and their parents.
“We’re especially excited about the addition of a functional and exciting indoor/outdoor play area, which the children will be able to enjoy throughout the year.”
The new room will be utilised to provide preschool services, where pupils participate in activities to help prepare them for school, including social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language skills.
The Centre and its services will remain fully operational throughout the construction, with the additional room generating the income to cover the loan required for construction.
It is expected to take 20 weeks to complete and has been created in
consultation with the Centre Staff by Jardine Architects, who have extensive experience in childcare centre design.
