Engineering Study tour to Canada

The Municipal Engineering Foundation Victoria (MEFvic) has awarded scholarships to five Victorian engineers to attend the American Public Works Association (APWA) Congress to be held in Toronto, Canada, during August this year as part of a study tour.

The winners are Rick Kwasek from the City of Stonnington, Ebony Perrin from Moyne Shire Council, Daniel Przychodzki from the City of Greater Dandenong, Alison Leighton from the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and Chris Hastie from Wellington Shire Council.

Ebony Perrin was the recipient of the scholarship jointly funded by MEFvic and the City of Boroondara as a tribute to the late David Powell, Trustee of the Foundation and Director of Environment and Infrastructure, City of Boroondara. This scholarship was available to a young engineer applicant from a rural council within Victoria.

After attending the conference, participants will participate in visitations to municipal authorities in the United States of America, Canada and the United Kingdom for research on their specific topic of study over a period of three weeks.

Trustee of MEFvic Claudio Cullino will be traveling with the group as organiser and mentor.

On completion of the study tour members will complete a report on their topic of study that will be published on the MEFvic website, together with previous study tour reports.
