BounceBack SMS service scores national recognition
In March, Blink Mobile Technologies was Highly Commended in the ‘Innovations in Communications’ category of the ATUG Communications Innovations Awards.
The Australian Telecommunications User Group (ATUG) holds the awards ceremony each year to recognise the most innovative products and services on the Australian market.
The awards attract a range of national and international companies, with other winners and nominees including Optus, Telstra and State Government bodies.
This is the first year Blink Mobile has entered the awards with its BounceBack SMS service, which was developed to service the ‘on demand’ communications needs of organisations that don’t want to be burdened with managing and maintaining lists of phone numbers.
The service also removes significant security, privacy and anti spam obligations.
Blink Mobile initially provided the service to local sports associations, clubs, schools and community groups as a zero cost service.
Today, it continues to enjoy the support of more than 400 customers and has processed more than 150,000 SMS information requests on their behalf.
Last year, the BounceBack SMS technology was extended into a new BounceBack Councils service, applying the core BounceBack messaging technology into a more robust ‘Community Notice Board’ solution that met the ratepayer communication requirements of councils.
The service allows ratepayers to self service a council’s high demand public information by texting unique keywords from their mobile.
This provides an instant response to their question and reduces the demand on customer service representatives for repetitive style questions – including sports ground status, outages and closures, festivals and events, even bin nights or library hours.
In fact any simple style request that typically generates a high volume of inbound calls can be better handled by the BounceBack message server.
“We are extremely proud to receive such a high profile recognition amongst some high profile organisations,” said Managing Director of Blink Mobile Technologies, Darren Besgrove.
“It really shows that small innovative businesses like ours can make an impact on the national stage based on strong user benefits and good technology.
“We really appreciate the early support we received from Wyong and Gosford Councils, as well as our more recent council customers, who have all demonstrated their commitment to improving their customer service options.”
