Long a tourist hotspot, the historic township of Kiama is turning out to be a magnet for those looking to mix business with leisure.

That’s keeping staff at The Pavilion more than a little busy.

“We have a great reputation for weddings but now we are seeing as many people in business suits as wedding dresses,” said Jackie Hall, Event and Marketing Coordinator, The Pavilion Kiama.

“Conference organisers are now looking for venues that offer a mix of the functional, accessible and a little bit of that wow factor when it comes to their events.

“We have all that in spades.

“We’re in a modern building with all the facilities you’d need, including the NBN and heaps of free parking.

“We’re also less than two hours from Sydney Airport and the railway station is a five minute walk away.”

It also doesn’t hurt your business when you’re perched on a beautiful headland in one of Australia’s favourite holiday destinations.

“People want a beautiful setting, not too far from work and home, and things to enjoy in their down time.

“As far as wow factor, I bet there aren’t too many function centres that provide views of whales and dolphins swimming in the ocean!
“If the water isn’t your thing, you can check out the local wineries, rainforests and bike tracks.

“Of course you’ll also have no problem spending money at the craft and clothing stores or farmers market.”

Just remind yourself occasionally you’re also here for work.
