Council streamlines recruitment process

Tweed Shire Council is about to move to a new fully integrated online recruitment system, which will streamline application processes and speed up the recruitment process.

Scout e-Recruitment is a web-based application that provides a central point to manage all recruitment–related activities.

The system lets candidates complete an entire job application process from any web-enabled device with internet access, such as desktop computers, tablets and smartphones, as well as keeping candidates updated on the status of their application.

General Manager Troy Green says the online system would allow Council to communicate even more efficiently and effectively with job applicants.

“E-Recruitment will streamline the application process for both managers and prospective employees.

“Shortlisting will be completed faster, so employees can receive advice regarding their application sooner.

“As one of the largest employers in the Tweed, it is important that we make recruitment simple and efficient and that we have the best tools to employ the right people.”

As part of the online functionality, Council will no longer be accepting hard copy applications.

This reduces the amount of paper being submitted as part of the recruitment process.

“Communication with candidates will be simplified and will be managed even more effectively via email and electronic messaging, not to mention the positive effect on the environment from less paper.”

All prospective job applicants will require a valid email address to apply for vacant positions, as all communication throughout the process will take place via email.

Applicants who don’t have immediate access to web-enabled devices can take advantage of Internet services available at all public libraries.
