Open air gym

Randwick City Residents can look forward to using a free public outdoor gym in Burrows Park, Clovelly.

The $70,000 gym recently opened to the public and features 13 pieces of low-impact exercise equipment, ideal for most age groups and those recovering from injury.

It features a treadmill, cross trainer, spinning bike, triple pull up bars and more.

The machinery is constructed from marine grade stainless steel and instructive signage accompanies the range of strength and cardio equipment.

This is the second Outdoor Gym for Randwick City, following the opening of the Maroubra Beach Outdoor Gym in April last year.

Mayor Scott Nash was among the first to test out the equipment last week and says the new gym is already proving popular with locals and visitors, alike.

“We encourage our residents to lead a healthy lifestyle.

“A gym that is free and located outdoors in a beautiful coastal setting, just north of Clovelly Beach, is the ideal way to exercise, as well as creating an opportunity to socialise with friends and neighbours.

“With Spring around the corner, we hope our residents will enjoy the latest Outdoor Gym in Randwick City.”
