Fremantle wins WA Leadership AwardThe City of Fremantle has received the Western Australian Local Government Association’s highest honour, the Alcoa Leadership Award. This award recognises true leadership, extensive community consultation, excellent organisational management and documented benchmarking. The City also picked up awards for the following.
City of Fremantle CEO, Ray Glickman, said that the Alcoa Leadership Award was recognition of the hard work and commitment to the Fremantle community demonstrated by management and staff on a daily basis. “This award is the culmination of a seven year journey, where we have set our sights on being the best in Local Government in Western Australia to ensure that our community is getting the best service in the State,” Ray Glickman said. “We strive for continuous improvement and it is great to be recognised as best of the best! “This major leadership award is a tribute to Council’s excellent management team and to our staff, who show such commitment to Fremantle. I thought we had a good chance of picking up a couple of awards, but was ecstatic at the City of Fremantle winning so many accolades throughout the night. We won’t be resting on our laurels, we will continue to demonstrate best practice and continually assess the needs of our community and how we can become better and better.” For further information contact Ray Glickman, on (08) 9432 9782. |
