Mobile slogan aims to raise Shire's profile Australia wide

Traversed by the nation's highway number one, Colac Otway Shire in Victoria has come up with a unique method of promoting Council and the region. Local transport operator, Amezdroz and Sons, will carry the Shire's new marketing logo, 'Naturally Progressive', around Australia emblazoned along the side of a semi trailer.

Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Patterson, said the idea is part of a wider marketing strategy aimed at promoting the region, in Victoria's south west, to target audiences statewide, nationally and internationally.

"The promotions and marketing initiatives are aimed at raising the profile of the region to a range of specific audiences including investors and developers, tourists and visitors to the region," he said.

Along with other marketing tools, including a CD rom, a website and special folders, the trailer aims to make Colac Otway more competitive at both local and international levels.

"They will be used in a variety of ways to illustrate to the public the unique and bountiful region that we have, one which is full of opportunities for investment, partnerships and tourism," Glenn Patterson said.

After adopting the slogan 'Naturally Progressive' in 1998, Council suggested to local organisations and businesses that they might like to adopt it to badge their vehicles and buildings. Amezdroz and Sons, ideally placed to take the message to a broad audience, is the first to take up the concept.
